Welcome Mackynzie Renée Duggar!
We are pleased to announce that Mackynzie made her debut into the "big world" at 6:39PM on October 8, 2009. She weighed 8lbs and was 19.5 inches long. Kynzie & Anna are healthy and doing well! We are blessed to be able to receive this special gift from God and we look forward to the years ahead, training our daughter in the ways of the Lord!
In our vows to each other at the wedding ceremony, we committed to God that we would leave the timing and amount of children in His hands. Of course, both being from "large" families (Josh the oldest of 18 and Anna number 5 out of 8) we knew that the question would come up, "So how many children will you have?" Anna responds, "We would be happy with two or three if that is all God blesses us with, but we believe that children are a blessing from God and we look forward to receiving each gift that He gives us."
The decision to trust God with our family size is based on our desire to serve God with every decision of our life. From the time we were young our parents taught us about the things of God and the importance of committing our lives to Him. God requires that we give him everything, and often the area that we want to reserve for ourselves is the very area that he knows we must surrender to Him. God wants all of us - as He often compares it to marriage - we must give all and no less! When we let God control every area of our lives, He will give us awesome new opportunities to glorify Him!
Being in the public eye, we often get criticized for the way that we have chosen to live our lives. Our goal in life is to share of the hope that we have in Christ and to use whatever platform He has given us to do so. In a world where so many are without hope, it is encouraging to know that there is a God that loves them and cares for them! We hope that you will come to the place in life where you can find true purpose.
We are working together at our pre-owned car dealership and and enjoying our new little one! Season 2 of the series "18 Kids & Counting!" on TLC has highlighted Anna's pregnancy with Mackynzie and is keeping viewers up to date on Josh & Anna's family life. We are grateful to so many and would like to first thank God for his great love and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, to our parents for their years of training and investment in our lives and to our families and friends who have encouraged us along the way. As we have entered the new phase in life of parenting, we trust that the Lord will give us the strength and ability to raise our family and our children to become responsible young men & women that would look past themselves and serve the needs of those around them.
We would like to encourage the young people out there who are considering a relationship or getting married, to wait for God's best in their life partner. If you have made mistakes, start from where you are and let God be the sole proprietor of your love life! We all make mistakes, but God looks at our heart and says that when we give him what we have left, he can take it and do great things! God is interested in you & the relationships in your life!
